Android 11
Android 10 introduced the concept of scoped storage and Android 11 enforces it system wide. While I don’t know all the pros and cons of scoped storage, it was immediately apparent that the traditional use of the system clipboard was gone. One can no longer copy and paste between applications. This means that many clipboard managers will cease to work and many other apps will lose functionality.
Android has always had, and continues to have, a SHARE option for sharing content between apps. It functions like a clipboard but is a bit clumsy, requiring the user to choose from a long list of apps. There are other solutions to the Android 11 issues. If you are using a Samsung tablet, the built-in keyboard has its own clipboard that works well. Otherwise, gboard has a similar keyboard. New note taking apps are appearing that advertise themselves as Android 11 compatible. And some file managers such as Cx Explorer and Solid Explorer also have built in clipboards.
According to recent comments some. of the most popular note taking apps including monospace, iaWriter, Jotterpad, and others in the PlayStore have lost functionality in their current versions. It is my experience to find good and often free software outside of the PlayStore. Follow this link to download the apk for Noteless, a simple note taking app that is Android 11 compatible.
All operating systems evolve. Developers either will or will not update their apps accordingly. It is inevitable that there will be casualties.
